Picture: Albert McKnightThe Pambula Bike Show is no more but it’s still worth checking your oil and getting your motors running asthe Far South Coast’s new motorcycle show is looking like it will be huge.
The Bega Valley Motorcycle Expo will be held at theCandelo Showgrounds on September 16-17.
The expo’s founder and organiserGlenn Cotter said it wasgoing to be a whole lotbigger than the Pambula Bike Show that he ran for five years.
“It’s a whole new conceptand we decided if we are going to grow it and develop in the way we really wanted then we hadto take a chance,” he said noting that allowing visitors to camp near the expo was one of the reasons behind the venue change.
In previous years there has been some confusion between the Pambula Bike Show and the Pambula Motorfest which will hopefully no longer be a problem.
Mr Cotter said this year’sexpo will focus more on promoting tourism and supporting the entire Bega Valley Shire.
It will featuretrade stands and displays,a Show’n’Shine, six bands,the Trials Club of ACT andThe Canberra Bulls Speedway Team, as well as thedebut of a race bike belonging to the localMongrel Racing V8 Sand Drag team.
Funding raised will go to support theBega Oncology Unit andSnowy Hydro South Care.
On the Friday night, motorcycle movies will be playedat the showground, while the gates will open at 10am on Saturday wherebands will play from noon to 10pm.Entry per adult is $5between 10am-3pmSaturday and$10after 3-8pm.Any inquiries, contact Mr Cotter at [email protected]南京夜网.
