Wilson is a two-and-a-half year old Jack Russell terrier-cross.

He was surrendered to Port Stephens Animal Refuge by his owner.

The owner could not keep Wilson at their Raymond Terrace home any longer.

“He was owned by an older person who hasn’t got secured fences,” animal refuge owner Mary Hickie said.

“He kept escaping and going to school to play with the kiddies at a nearby school.”

Ms Hickie described wilson as a “normal Jack Russell”.

While he is energetic, he is not over the top.

“He’s not overly energetic, or over the top,” Ms Hickie said.

“He’s active and quite friendly, including to the kids at the school.

“He would be suitable for any type of family.”

Wilson is small like a Jack Russell but has a rough, wiry coat.

He will cost $285 to adopt from the refuge located at 157 Cabbage Tree Road, Williamtown.

The adoption fee covers the cost of vaccination, desexing, microchipping and a lifetime registration.

For more information about Wilson phone the refuge on 4965 0100.
